Kaneda is one the most popular characters in Akira (admittedly he's my favorite). His supposed age is 16 years but you would'nt think it by his attitude and strength towards people at least twice his age, such as when they are apprenhended by the army after Tetsuo's accident or the way he stands up to Tetsuo's power. He also shows great leadership skills, he leads the gang well and they rely upon him heavily both in the manga and the anime. Two things that Kaneda will always be remembered for by anyone who sees the film is his jacket and, of course, his bike! It's a beast!! It's the Ferrari of the bike world.
