Tetsuo started out life as a quiet, meek individual. But, in the anime and manga, he soon becomes a megalomaniac of gigantic proportions. He uses his powers against the people who were his friends but who also "ruled" him previously, not only that, he uses his psycho-kinetic powers against anyone who tries to stop him. To some extent you can't blame him, he's had it pretty rough through life, having been sent to an orphanage at an early age and has been bullied throughout his life. It is at the orphanage where he befriended Kaneda.
